We’re proud to reinvest some of our profits into helping to re-populate the Manx honey bee. And you should be too, because with every bottle of Roots you buy, you play a part in protecting the bee population in our homeland.
Here are just a few of the community projects we’re involved in back home.
We’ve set up a bee farm with our friends at the Children’s Centre and the Society for the Preservation of the Manx Countryside and Environment, building hives and planting flowers to create a place for bees to thrive.
We’re aiming to build more bee farms across the Island to help develop an ecosystem of bees that’ll support the whole environment.
Our profit investment is being used to set up countryside traps to collect spiders and beetles so we can find out more about their habitat and identify the different trees and plants that would attract honey bees and solitary bees.
Nurturing queen bees takes more than just building hives – we want to create a real buzz and educate people with bee keeping apprenticeships to create some bee expertise among the youth of the Isle of Man.
